SARA AIML set tested on Pandorabots with no problems found.

The German ALICE files have been revised slightly to work on Pandorabots.

The French AIML set has been uploaded.

The original botmaster is
Jean Louis Campion. The French AIML was later modified by Tan Siew Lan in 2006.

The following files were split to fit into the 200K file size limit of this Wiki:
atomique_ed.aiml into atomique_ed_1.aiml and atomique_ed_2.aiml,
questcenque_ed.aiml into questcenque_ed_1.aiml, questcenque_ed_2.aiml amd questcenque_ed_3.aiml.
srai_ed.aiml into srai_ed_1.aiml, srai_ed_2.aiml and srai_ed_3.aiml.

I uploaded all the Cybora.aiml files to the Wiki. The file cybora.aiml was split into 3 files: cybora_1.aiml, cybora_2.aiml and cybora_3.aiml.

Re: Cybora by archbotmasterarchbotmaster, 13 Aug 2008 22:03

The German A.L.I.C.E. AIML was in one file of just under 400K, so I split it into two files German_1.aiml and German_2.aiml.

The Sara bot Spanish AIML set created by Adam Codony (aka XGargoyle) is now uploaded to the AIML Wiki:
es-es:Xgargoyle:sara.

The original AIML set had one file, sara_srai.aiml, which was larger than 200K. I split the file into two files sara_srai_1.aiml and sara_srai_2.aiml.

Experimenting with namespaces on the Wiki to keep everything organized, I created one for Peter Lafferty's Chomsky bot:

aiml:en-uk:plafferty:chomsky
en-uk:plafferty:chomsky

(This is now linked on the Free AIML drop down menu on nav:top)

Do you think we should use namespaces like:
AIML:language-country:author:botname?

I realize that not everything fits this model. For example Square-Bear has a collection of bot files not associated with a bot name.

Hi Dr Wallace!
(1) I think the 200K limit is a real problem that will have to be addressed. With the Chomsky AIML set, I restrict the update files to 500K otherwise they are a bit too long to edit. I have about 50 update files of 500K , equivalent to 125 200K files. The complete Chomsky set would be equivalent to about 180 200K files. At this level, it is becoming tedious to load all the files into a Pandorabot. Bearing in mind that the way forward (I think) is to build larger AIML sets, the whole thing will become unmanageable, unless larger files are used.
(2) Having said that I think someone will have to bite the bullet and subdivide the remaining AAA files, so that the complete AAA set is available for edit.

Hi Peter, thank you for trying the Wiki. Can you give us any feedback on your experience? Do you think the 200K character size limit is a serious limitation?

The complete AIML set for <a href="http://tinyurl.com/ydxlef">Chomsky</a> the chatbot is now available for download <a href="http://chomsky.aimlfiles.googlepages.com/chomskyAIML.zip">here</a>. The Chomsky AIML set contains in excess of 180,000 categories and is growing daily.

Hi everyone,
My name is liz and
I have quite a few bots on the net….
www.shakespearebot.com (program e and aiml)
and www.botooie.com (php + mysql)
I became interested in bots while at uni…
and made shakespearebot for my final year project…
I am not really interested in "agent" type bots that can organise your life
but more interested in the fun, emotional, silly bots
and i think thats about it!

Hello from Liz by lissibotlissibot, 03 Aug 2008 21:42

Hiya!

My name is Adeena (yes - real name) and I'm an engineer, writer and entrepreneur (although I currently don't have a business). I because fascinated with AIML mostly because it doesn't require a lot of extraneous programming stuff to get started and get a good conversation going - although all the hooks are there if you want to do anything fancy.

I have a couple bots up on pandorabots, but my focus for the past several months has been on my Loebner Contest entry: Orion. He's an AIML bot that I used with Program E. Now that the contest is over (for me anyway this year) I'll look through the AIML I have and see what I can share. I've created a lot of custom tags in order to do many things and most of that AIML is dependant on it.

I look forward to maybe having a conversation about extending the AIML tag set…??? Especially when it comes to dealing with numbers. :)

Hi there,

My name is Steve Worswick but I go under the name of Square Bear. I am a dance musician from the UK who became interested in bots and AIML after chatting to an ALICE clone on a forum.

I found it amazing that something so believable could be created, especially since the only chatbots I had encountered up to then gave out responses like "I see" or "Tell me more" no matter what the input.

I hope you find my AIML useful. There's nothing earth shattering there but it will add extra features to your bot.

Assim a Cybora nasceu!

The ALICE A.I. Foundation is announcing the opening of a new Wiki for
sharing AIML files.

Many people have kindly contributed open source AIML files over the
years, and we now have a place to collect all of them.
The community has also suggested many editorial changes to the
existing body of ALICE AIML and they will now have the opportunity to
edit the shared files.
For example, people who have contributed to an ALICE clone with a
corporate sales-bot personality, now have a place share their files in
a common community location.

We are proceeding with this project in baby steps. At first, we are only inviting a small number of people from the
community to experiment with the Wiki, to get a feel for how it goes
and what kind of problems we might have.
As you will see, the free Wiki software at wikidot has some problems
with respect to AIML files.
We plan to migrate to better Wiki software at some point in the future.
This is the first phase of a project.

If it works, it will become a large repository of "the latest and
greatest" AIML available. Please give it a try and give us your
feedback.
